Day 30 - Healing from the Influence of Trauma - The Denouement
My loved friends,
The difference between the word denouement (a French word in origin) and the word conclusion is that a conclusion infers, indicates, and suggests an end, the final comment, or the complete last word. Denouement suggests something more real. Denouement simply unravels the many intricate plot twists and turns of a story indicating that while the story presentation ends clarifying how all elements contributed to and yielded the ending.
I suggest to you that there is more. The ends of stories, plays, or movies demand the question of what follows the end. We know there is more, could be more, or likely much more; or how else would books and movies generate sequels that keep us coming back. Now, your story continues. You are forming your sequel beyond what has come before
That is our shared position today. Our formal work and study time together ends today. That would seem our conclusion. It is not. It s the shared experience of our shared denouement. Our stories are not finished.
Now, we write the rest of the story from the power alive in us to love. All my hopes and prayers for you are that love is the power source and motivation to all that you think, all that you do, and all that you say. We are more than we have ever imagined and it doth not yet appear what we shall be.
